Whats happening at Beachside for 2010
January
First time visitors to the church and for them to get connected with one of our local churches. During the early months of the year new people to the area are often searching for a church family to connect with. We get one chance at a first impression.
Ben Gillard the Music Director from our “Flagship Church” in Adelaide will be holidaying with us in the area.
He has kindly made himself available to lead our worship in song at that time. Please pray for peoples hearts to be moved by the expression of worship in song.
February - “Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage” is a community outreach opportunity. Rob and Jill Reeve are co-ordinating the program. We will book the Nelson Bay cinema and our task is to invite our unchurched friends to participate with us. The program is run by Focus on the Family and has received excellent feedback from participants.
March - March is Missions month. We will have the privilege of having Ps Peter & Rachel Simon from Vanuatu with us. The leaders in Vanuatu have asked for support to help grow the work and so we have responded by offering to build relationship with them and provide some financial support for Peter & Rachel ($150 per month) from our Missions giving. World Day of Prayer is being hosted by the Catholic Church in March.
April - Our Easter services are on the 2nd & 4th. Good Friday this year saw 150 people in attendance. Please pray for our Creative Arts team as they perform drama and dance that is so often powerfully impacting. Ps Hans Voortman will be with us on the 11th. You may have heard Hans on LIFE FM Radio Stations with ‘inspirational spots,’ he is soon to be broadcast on RHEMA FM Stations also. On the 25th we will have a special “ANZAC” Service. All opportunities to invite people. There is also an opportunity for Kids to attend Kids Camp during the holidays at Tahlee 12th – 16th.
May - Our annual Missions Garage Sale will again generate several thousand dollars for widows and orphans and other Mission work in developing nations. Francine Bell will be ministering with us during this month. Another opportunity to invite people is for the Mothers Day Service on the 9th.
June - Our annual focus on Owning Our Home. This month gets us focussed on sowing into things of eternal value, it helps to order the priorities of the heart. I find this one of the best discipleship endeavours we undertake. It always seems to have a powerful impact on the family as we commit together complete fitting out our facility and increase our equity in the Building. Ps Ian Miller will also minister with us and inspire us in our faith and trust in God.
